21 Acres

From conception to completion, I was hired by 21 Acres to make an online hub for the various facets of their dynamic organization to communicate with their diverse member base. The most important interactive functions of this platform would be booking space, registering for classes, and purchasing tickets. Roles: Project Lead User Research UX Design Information and database design Information architecture Web design Web development in Squarespace Content Strategy

Objective

Creating a new, centralized web page that will allow: The event team to advertise and book reservations The culinary and marketing team to advertise and register classes The farm and HUB teams to communicate with agricultural partners Members- receive and search information regarding events, classes, and products. All departments- upload new tutorials and educational content to a number of blogs within the site. RESULTS: The new website resulted in a near doubling of their cooking class sizes over the next year. There were no double bookings or schedule conflicts in that year either, which had been a key pain point between the events and kitchen teams. The Food HUB participants saw consistently higher participation from neighboring agricultural partners. The marketing team reported greater ease in targeting communications to appropriate community members. The business saw a 5% increase in revenue in the first quarter following the site launch.
