Spirulina Society

Serving primarily UK and Thailand based users, this open-source platform provides step-by-step instructions for cultivating edible spirulina at home. You can also find CAD files to 3D print all of the necessary components for the setup. Roles: UX Research UX Writing (editing) Usability Audit Information Architecture

Objective

To perform an audit and provide recommendations for User Experience on a platform for educating novices who wish to cultivate Blue-Green algae using open source 3d printing components. PROJECT OVERVIEW I was hired by Spirulina Society to evaluate and edit the existing content, and make recommendations for a structure to be developed. No new content was created- it was edited and restructured. Global architecture also needed to be designed. I was to engage a focus group assembled by Anya (founder), provide analysis about motivations and hurdles for users of this site, and edit the copy in a way that would be easy for the users to understand.
